Migori county assembly appointment committee which was vetting ten executives appointed by governor Okoth Obado on Thursday turned away one waziri.

The committee finalized the vetting of nine of ten appointees, but turned away former Public Service executive Sheila Ghati who was appointed for the same position.

It has emerged that the naming of the department in an earlier advert caused an hitch, which will be rectified later by the executive.

“Vetting went well and we are done for nine executives members if they will pass the test. We had a problem with one appointee, we will vet her later,” speaker Boaz Okoth and committee chair said.

Ghati was turned away before the vetting process started after the committee explained to her the “technical hitch” which can “only be solved by the executive side.”

“We may have a special vetting sitting for her once the hitch is solved, otherwise we plan to have a report for each appointee and table it in parliament next week,” Okoth said.
