Suna West MP aspirant in last polls Valentine Ogongo has said his political ambitions will not affect his bid to be the county executive member for Agriculture.
Ogongo said if he is approved by the assembly next week, he will temporarily shelve his ambitions to offer development services to wananchi.

Ogongo was addressing the assembly appointment committee headed by speaker Boaz Okoth and his deputy George Omamba on Thursday during the vetting pocess.
On Thursday former Suna West MP aspirant and Agriculture docket nominee Valentine Ogongo told members his political ambitions was still alive, but he will concentrate in impartially doing his job.
“Politics may be in my blood, but anytime we will meet at a public forum I will be pushing through the agenda of having the best agriculture projects for Migori,” Ogongo said.

He added that he was aware that as a politician there were people who supported and opposed him, but insisted he will “consider all of them as my supporters especially elected MCAs and residents of this great county in need of services.”
During the vetting process, Ogongo tenure as officer at the defunct Alliance One tobacco firm came up.
Ogongo said despite tobacco in Migori accounting for 70 per cent of Kenya’s production, the sector was faced with issues which he vowed to address in the new docket.
“We have complains of pricing on tobacco farmers and no alternative cash crops, the first mandate I will have when my appointment is approved will be to creat princig committee and work for new cash crops,” Ogongo said.
Ogongo was among ten executives appointed by governor Okoth Obado in his second term to included Sheila Ghati (Public Service), Rebecca Ghati (Water and Energy) and Samson Maginga (Education, Culture, Sports).

Others were Scholarstica Abiero from Nyatike will head the powerful Finance docket., Kephas Nyamita (Environment and Disaster Management) and Isca Oluoch ( Health).
Others are Moses Chamwada (Public works), Elijah Odhiambo (Lands) and Elizabeth Ochaye (Trade and Tourism).
