Migori police have dismissed claims of revenge rape by the wife of a close relative of Governor Okoth Obado’s aide, Michael Oyamo.

Oyamo, Obado’s personal assistant, and his boss governor Okoth Obado and a colleague, Caspal Obiero are facing murder charges over the death of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

According to police reports at Uriri Police Station, the woman from Kamgudho village aged 43 years old said a group invaded her house on Saturday morning and raped her.

She claimed the Kamgudho attackers said they were raping her the same way Sharon was raped and later murdered at Kodera Forest.

“She claims people unknown to her gained entry into her house, indecently touched and raped her. Of course these are allegations but we are treating them very seriously in our investigations,” Migori Police boss Joseph Nthenge said.

Police said they were suspicious when the woman claimed that even though her husband was around she didn’t spend a night at their home.

The rape claims were dismissed by a doctor at Uriri sub-county hospital forcing police to launch investigations.

“It has been confirmed by the doctor who examined her and there were no signs of rape,” he said.
