Migori town residents have called for police to reverse runaway insecurity after a nightwatchman at International Gospel Ministries was found murdered in cold blood.

Oruba sub-location chief within town Charles Ouma said the deceased has been identified as Saitoti Masai, 27, and was guarding the premises with his other colleague who escaped unhurt when the incident happened at 1am.

“Robbers attacked him by hacking him severally with pangas before forcing their way into the church and stole only two pianos, his colleague only realised after he had left,” Ouma said.

The deceased was leaving the old church building where his colleague was towards a new morder church across a dirt road when he met robbers.

“We are yet to get the CCTV footage to enable us to identify the suspects. Our preliminary investigation has however established that the guard was on a routine patrol when the armed robbers attacked,” he said.

The body was taken to Life Care hospital in Migori town as investigations continue.
