Politicians should preach unity, avoid division- Religious leaders

Religious leaders have expressed concern over need to forge a workable formula and pray for unity to kick out ethnicity that for long denied citizens opportunity to share views on matters of economic progress

The religious leaders condemned politicians who are preaching division throwing the nation into anarchy for selfish political interests ignoring citizens.

In a press conference in Rongo town on Friday, Father Tilen Agiso Oyamo said calls for succession was key indicator on divisions in the country.

Tilen said Kenya is one and it has to move on as a united nation and pol;politicians implicated in making utterances igniting tension be dealt with by law enforcers who will arraign them in courts.

Father Tilen called upon religious leaders to speedily forge unity and discourage ethnicity and clan-ism.

Before God no one is superior and that Africans,Europeans,Indians and Asians are the same and should treat one another with dignity and respect.Police brutality must be avoided when people are expressing the democratic rights and give dialogue a chance when there was tension in any part of the universe, Father Tilen added.

“We expect President Uhuru to accept corrections for the nation to move on and let God’s will; be done as no one will block his plans”, Father Tilen noted
