Migori police impound Sh2.3m bhang , suspects escape to Kisii

Police in Migori on Thursday night impounded bhang worth Sh2.3million at Masro stage along the busy Migori-Kisii highway.

The 230Kilograms of illegal drugs was believed to be from Tanzania and it was hidden in black polythene bags and was being ferried in a probox of registration number KCN656U.

Migori county commissioner Joseph Rotich, county police commander Joseph Nthenge and AP commander Julius Mukanda said suspects escaped on foot towards Kisii county.

“The driver of the vehicle that was ferrying bhang managed to escape deserting the vehicle along the road when the police waylaid the vehicle,” Said Rotich.

The county commissioner said the fight against narcotics is still on in the county adding that they are working with other security officers from the neighboring counties and in Tanzania to stop the illegal business.

“Our offices are on alert all the time and no any illegal drug that will pass in Migori without intersected once sported,” Mukanda said.
