Migori county governor Okoth Obado and his political nemesis senator Ochilo Ayacko might have reached a deal to swap seats ahead of 2022 general elections.
In a meeting between the two, believed to be given a green light by ODM party bigwigs, the two leaders have been meeting severally to line out the deal.
The second time governor, has been brooding over his next political move as he is set to step down after serving his two terms as Migori CEO.
Sources close to the two in several interviews with Migori News, and those privy to the arrangement and their last meting at a high end hotel in Nairobi has revealed an intricate web or re-alignment in the offing that will get other aspirants flat footed.
“The senate seat is reserved for Obado, that is why i have not publicly gone on record or mainstream media to show my interest,” a senior county government officer who seeks the senate seat in 2022 said.
Within a week a candidate who vied twice in 2017 general election and ensuing by-election when Ben Oluoch Okello died, and came close winning complained of the pact.

“Owadwa (my brother) don’t call me a senator because Obado has met with Ayacko and that seat is gone,” the candidate said.
Within the same period, an aide to Ayacko who asked a county journalist on topics for the senator to discuss during a radio show omitted all queries which were to touch directly on unfinished county projects and attack administration.
When reached to comment, the aide refused to comment.
Recently, Ayacko has completely shied off from directly attacking Obado with section of electorates complaining that he has gone to bed on the oversight role.
“To appease to his support base that don’t like the governor, bloggers have remained with the task attack dogs,” an aide said.
