Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria shocked Christians at Nyabikaye SDA church in Kuria West when he said Sh2,000 was used to pay witnesses who ended up in International Criminal Court.

Kuria said that was the amount Party of National Union paid witnesses in the Waki and Kreigler reports on the 2007/08 Post Election Violence which ended up being used by the ICC.

PNU was contesting the presidential results with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM, and Kuria said he started raising the matter way back in 2011 while he was still an activist.

“When I started raising the issues on credibility of witnesses I was ignored. I am happy they are listening to me as a legislator,” he said.

Kuria was hosted by area MP Mathias Robi during a funds drive.

Kuria said he will welcome ICC officials seeking statement from him with a cup of tea, insisting the case was political.

“Making the reports was politically based. PNU which I belonged was out to prove we won the presidential vote. ODM was out to discredit that. The best way was to procure witnesses to get a win,” Kuria said.

He said Cord leader Raila Odinga and former ODM Seretary-General Anyang’ Nyong’o did the same insisting he was saying the truth and “all leaders involved in fixing suspects at ICC must come out and tell the world the truth,”

He added: “I am not afraid of ICC, if they come they will find me at parliament where I work. I will welcome them with a cup of tea. Of course after they’ll have been frisked t remove any illegal item.”

Robi said all Kenyans should be behind the DP during these times when the political tides surrounding ICC cases, he said the case have derailed development by Jubilee administration.
