Migori county has been hit by cholera scare as eight people were admitted with symptoms with three testing positive.

County health executive Julius Nyerere confirmed in a press conference on Wednesday morning.

He said the eight were admitted at Migori Referral Hospital and they are on high alert and warned residents to maintain hygiene to prevent further spread.

“Out of the number we admitted we tested six where three tested positive of the disease,” Nyerere said.

Health Chief Officer Mabel Chanzu said they have already contacted schools and other learning institutions to be on alert to help stop spread of the disease.
