Things could be going sideways for Migori Assembly Speaker Charles Owino Likowa as a section of members of Azzimio Coalition skipped his meeting today.

The meeting that took place at a hotel in Migori town was to bring together the speaker and the majority side of the house.

But speaking in Migori town after the meeting, Likowa said the meeting was to bring the MCAs together in a bonding exercise.

He added that he used the meeting to ponder over a petition at the Migori high court seeking to remove him from his seat.

The petition was lodged by Isaac Aluochier at the high court on several grounds among them, irregular election of the current speaker.

Quizzed over the number of MCAs who attended the meeting, the speaker said that only 36 members showed up. Migori Assembly has 42 members allied to the Azimio Coalition.
