Migori county will use 1.9M in the health sector to improve the hygiene in the health morgues in the level four hospital.

A total of four fridges will be brought into the facility which has so far not having any cooling agent for a period.

Speaking with the press, chief officer in charge of health Donald Jaleny said the department will donate the four fridges to help improve the hygiene of the hospital and health facility.

“We look forward to improve the sector in the best standard of any other facility in the country and this will make us achieve as a department,” he said.

Jaleny also promise to expand most of the health project to various facilities in the county and called on the locals to utilize the facilities provided like dispensaries and other health centers around them.

The fridges will contain a total of 24 bodies and is a step forward to the health department as most of the health facility have not been using fridges in their morgues as the duty is always done by the mortuary attendant.

The health department currently is heading the distribution of nets that were launched by president Uhuru in the county last month and Jaleny say thier main aim is to fight and reduce the level of malaria in the region and to improve other areas.

“This is one of the many projects we have as a department including our current distribution of nets as this region is popularly known for having high level of malaria, we shall work as team to get rid of malaria in the region”. He added.

However the chief officer warned the public against misusing the nets in other activities.

“We have seen in the past our people using nets in fencing their garden, as a hen nest and that should not be the case,” he said.
