A Sony Sugar tractor in Awendo town

An accident at Rapogi shoping centre in Uriri involving a bodaboda and a tractor yesterday claimed the life of a mother and a four year old child.

Beatrice Anyango and her son were on a motorbike from Rapogi centre when their motorcycle rammed into a tractor.

According to James Owiro, the motorcycle was making its way into the main highway when the rider rammed into a cane hauling tractor.

Uriri OCPD Benjamin Mwanzia said the four year old child died at the accident scene while the mother died shortly after being rushed to Rapogi health centre.

Mwanzia said the bodaboda rider also sustained serious injuries and recuperating.

The OCPD said the rider  was on the wrong, causing the accident, but said the police were conducting further investigation.
