There was tight security today at Migori ssembly ground as speaker Gordon Ogolla was unanimously impeached.
The motion brought by Macalder-Kanyarwanda MCA Eric Gogo wasn unanimously supported by all 56 MCAs in the house.

The motion accused Ogolla for hiring goons o beat up MCAs and used public vehicles in rally around Migori to insult MCAs especially on February 24 and October 21 this year.

“The goons beat up MCAs and sadly assembly vehicles were used to abuse us. We had to play the video in house as it was captured on video,” Gogo told the press outside assembly.

MCAs said the motion was not malicious, but was mean to clean the assembly.
Assembly Deputy Speaker Boaz Okoth said the assembly will soon advertise the vacant position and said Ogolla was given a chance to defend himself but declined.

He confirmed that the anti-graft body and police officers have been invited to investigate about Sh12million lost in graft as tabled by assembly report.

The graft allegations saw the interdiction of clerk Patrick Wakine who has been replaced by Tom Opere.
Majority Leader Richard Solo and Minority Leader Charles Nyange who were also implicated stepped aside.
Their fate will be decided by their parties.
