Rongo Deliverance Church when chaos broke out last Sunday

Sermon at deliverance church in Rongo town was interrupted as pastors engaged in fierce fighting over leadership making worshipers to flee in fear.

Worshippers sustained visible injuries as they scrambled to safety before police managed to rescue them.

Police arrived 30 minutes to separate the warring groups who had jammed the pulpit to install their preferred Pastor to deliver the sermon.

Police had hectic time controlling the flare up which ensued as majority of members were demanding that Pastor Tom Nyerere was in charge while the other group was led by a preacher only identified as Bishop Oselu.

Preachers abused each other and hurled plastic chairs, Oselu tried in vain to calm the situation and left when tension flared out of control.

Only a handful of followers remained behind hoping to receive sermon before going back to their residential areas

Rongo OCPD Jonathan Kisaka said they will continue to patrol the church to avoid further escalation of trouble.
