Obado lauds three awards he bagged for Migori

Migori County governor Okoth Obado has called upon other leaders in Migori to join hands and help maintain the standard of being the best.

The governor however requested the people to give them more time to achieve their goals they promised during the last general election campaigns.

“Being the first governors, all the eyes are turned to us and with that pressure it has made us achieve a lot in our various counties in the last 2 years in office”.

Obado promised to scoop more awards in the next coming competition of the counties.
Governor Obado also cited his court cases as the major obstacle that interfered with his development agenda in the first years of his duty as a governor.

“Some of us have just had a one year of peaceful work and you all see what we can do, we can achieve a lot if we work together in a peaceful environment.” He added.

Speaking while receiving the awards in his office, governor Obado said he is ready give the best for the people of Migori and to be the best in the next coming years.

Obado dedicated the awards to Migori county people whom he thanked for giving him their support to win the award.

“I am dedicating these awards to all Migori County residents who have supported the County Government in Implementing County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP), this is just but the beginning of everything.” He Said.

Migori County won three awards, the same to the Machakos County, including the National Cohesion and Integration, Housing and Human Habitation and Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management awards.

Obado was the only governor from Western and Nyanza region to win the award.

“Every award is important and it just gives us the morale to keep on working better everyday and thus all we need as governors.” He added.
