Suna East aspirant and Nairobi Majority Leader Elias Okumu has been arrested for assaulting a female colleague in Nairobi City Hall.

Okumu, who is the Kileleshwa MCA is expected in court on Friday to face assault charges after Kayole South MCA Elizabeth Manyara was injured in an incident at City Hall.

He was arrested and spent the night at Central Police Station after he was arrested at 5pm on Thursday for the alleged assault.

He was arrested at a restaurant in town while he was in the company of two people.

Manyara was admitted to Nairobi Hospital after the incident, which occurred on March 23 at City Hall in Nairobi.

She alleged that Okumu slapped her several times and pushed her to the wall.
