Over 780 Nyatike students have benefitted from Sh4.3million bursary from the area CDF kitty.

Area MP Edick Anyanga also donated 1,000 footballs to high schools to help them in co-curricular activities in a move set to boost education in his area.

Anyanga said he has also secured 50 polytechnic places for area students who will be funded by the kitty to finish their education.

“The free slots will be for students who want to continue with their study and the kitty will help in paying their fees,” he said.

The kitty will help subsidise fees for needy students as a way of promoting education in the region and therefore they need parents support so that the money does not go to waste.

He urged residents to invest in education to help reduce poverty in the area which is semi-arid.

“The kitty has often set aside more than 50 per cent to help boost education to help raise literacy level in the constituency and boost parents participation in education,” he said.

He said girls should be given more chance in education as they help contribute in the society development.

Anyanga vowed to give a total commitment to girls child education to help address the issue of economic crisis which has been contributed by lack of enough education among the girls.
