Migori county executive John Oring’o gave back to the society by organising a football tournament in Nyatike that brought over 30 teams.

Oring’o, the Roads and Transport executive organized the tournament finals at Wath Ong’er Wembly grounds in Macalder Kanyarwanda ward.

Osiri Investors FC won the tourney by thrashing Kuja FC 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out after a baren draw in full time of play.

Both teams missed several close call shots.

The winners lifted the top price thanks to goals by Cisse Onyango, Owino Jonte, Agai Kevin and John Brown.

The second team won by kicks by Billy Otieno and Kajos Ochieng.

In the semifinals, Osiri investors FC crushed Skylight 4-2 before Kuja whipped Siko 2-0 to qualify for the finals.

In play offs, Skylight beat Siko FC 1-0 to become the second and the third runners up in the tournament.

“We aimed to empower youths as well as help them realize their dreams alongside identifying and promoting their talents,” Oring’o said.

Waziri applauded all those who organized and participated promising to have the tournament which was almost crumpling fully revived across the constituency.

“We will move up the tourney and add other discplines apart from football, we will also add ladies teams,” he said.

He said they target 70 teams in next year.

The winners of the tournament took home a trophy Ksh45,000 a set of uniform and a ball as the first runners up pocketed Ksh30,000 a set of uniform and a ball.

The second runners up receiving Ksh20,000 and a ball and the fourth runners up getting Ksh10,000 and a ball.
