The Awendo constituency NG-CDF games kicked off on Wednesday in readiness to hosting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday finals.

So far 16 football teams for both women and female, several netball and volleyball teams for both men and women are sloughing it out for the top price.

Awendo MP Walter Owino told Migori News over the phone that all is set for Raila Odinga to be hosted for the finals on Final with several events lined up.

“As Awendo we will first host jakom in my home where he will meet with elders from the constituency for development and cultural talks,” Owino said.

He said later Raila will watch the finals and award several teams at Sony Green Stadium.

“We will later lead a meet the people tour and rally at Awendo bus park which will also be a venue to polularise our party in Migori and the region,” Owino said.

Awendo NG-CDF chairman Jared Osawa who is the former South Sakwa MCA said the games started at four ward level for each discpline and on Wednesday the constituency level games started off.

“All teams which took part at the ward level received uniforms each, balls and cash awards. We are impressed by the show of talent we are seeing and dedication we will give out the exact constituency level awards on Thursday,” Osawa said.

He said MP Walter hosted Raila specifically for games, which is part of development envisioned in the NG-CDF.

“Otherwise as a kitty we have several development projects and storey buildings we could’ve brought jakom to open, but this will be next time. We are planning to open a campus for Siruti TTI on North Sakwa which will be big,” Osawa said.
