Open Letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta: You have lost it in development

UhunyeBy Onyango Otieno Fredrick

Dear Mr. President,

I am aware your aides will not allow this information reach you because it’s of less importance to them.

I first take this opportunity to thank you for representing our beloved country to the international functions.

Mr. President, since you took office in 2013 your spirit of developing this country was so welcoming.

It is true that our country faces several challenges some of which started long before your reign.

Our former leaders tried to employ more resource including time for the solution of challenges that Kenyans faced and are still facing.

But Mr. President the challenges derailing our economic growth should be solved with urgency.

It’s abnormal for Finance CS Rotich to tell Kenyans that there is cash crunch shortly after hearing of corruption in government institutions including parliament, NYS and other areas.

This begs a question, how much do you even trust your officials? I believe you don’t. Which begs another question: do you think with this dearth of trust we will trust your leadership as Kenyans? We won’t.

That aside my president-What is the destiny of Kenyan education sector? In my rural home we know of teachers as the only working class. They are made guest of honours in fundraisings to boost education of the less fortunate in the society, poor, orphaned and vulnerable children.

Since September, the rural economy has really deteriorated because your government has refused to pay teachers.

Teachers, who are bread-winners in our rural society, are demoralised and some end up committing suicide.

Teachers and their dependents who voted for you are facing hard life, thanks to skewed leadership from government.

The wrath of teachers frustrations are felt by the majority.

To add insult into injury, I know you have heard of massive National Exam leakage like never before in Kenyan history, what kind of skilled workforce are we going to have after five years?

Kindly act swiftly to restore the trust we had in Jubilee government.

Yours faithfully,
Common Mwananchi wa Kawaida
