Kuria residents stranded along Isebania-Kehancha road after flash floods

As Kurias poured their heart out to one Raila Odinga during his recent visit, a few disgruntled ODM members were teaming up with the not so many 2013 poll losers from Luo Nyanza.

Together they registered a party that was launched in Kisumu and whose base is set to be shifted to Kuria for fear of tough reprisals from ODM supporters. Kuria is somehow viewed as a politically tolerant region to Odinga critics. However, it is a community that desperately needs to undergo complete metamorphosis especially when it comes to making political choices.

Kuria offers a swing vote that cannot be ignored especially when it comes to the gubernatorial contest. That as a community we know, but let us not pretend that we are as united as we would want tell the world. Unity can be achieved but not through advancement of selfish interests. Kuria has got a lot of self seekers, who move around propagating the so called “negotiated democracy” when in reality they are seeking positions for themselves.

I am told that one of the 2013 ODM aspirants from Kuria is among the think tank in the CCP, is he the leader of the party? Laughable indeed! Am shocked by the kind of celebrations am witnessing on facebook from among the Kurias. Having one of us as an official of a political party does not give kuria a platform to start shouting about political freedom. The freedom we want can only be achieved by stopping feeling insignificant in Migori county and working together with our county-mate to ensure structures are set to govern fair resource distribution. So fellow Kuria, avoid playing behind the shadows of political shadow fighters like CCP and fight for structures that will benefit Kuria as a whole.

CCP is a party formed by Grace Akumu from Nyakach, one of the 2013 ODM poll loser and not a party for Kuria as some bloggers want us to believe. For those of us in ODM or Jubilee let us keep off from this sideshows.
