Suba community elders in Migori county have come out in support of embattled Meru University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor Romanus Odhiambo who hails from the community.
Through Suba Council of Elders’ chairman Riogi Riogi they termed the removal of Odhiambo by the institution council as that reeks of tribalism and vendetta.
“We were shocked that our son Romanus Odhiambo was sent away from Meru University, the constitution allows for one to work anywhere unless they make a mistake. We wish our son is accorded respect,” Mzee Riogi said.
They said as a minority community they celebrated Odhiambo’s appointed as the University Vice Chancellor and said he has been their pride as a community.
