(VIDEO/PHOTOS) Silver Dean Company pays full tuition fees for Kanyawanga High form one who reported late without fees, necessities

Silver Dean Company Limited, a human resource management firm has come out to fully pay tuition fees for a form one student who joined Kanyawanga High School late without fees and basic necessities.

The Nairobi based firm will pay the fees while the school’s alumni is rising funds to help in in meeting the students’ basic necessities.

Linet Omunga, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer said they were touched by the plight of the boy after several media houses, including Migori News, aired John Otieno Odhiambo’s plight.

“We were touched when he reported to school without any uniform or fees and we have decided to pay his full fees in his entire secondary school education and beyond,” Omunga said.

She said the firm is also paying for ten other students adding that condition for payment of the fees will be pegged on discipline and not solely of on education performance which has locked out needy, but not high performing learners.

“We will follow on his discipline progress and proceed to pay his fees to beyond secondary school in any course he wishes to pursue even though we will encourage him to work hard and attain his neurosurgeon dream,” Omunga said.

Donald Ogalo Ouko, secretary general of Kanyawanga Alumni Association said they will officially hand over basic neccesities to the boy on Friday.

“As an alumni we have been rising money internally which will help us offset his personal needs after we contacted the principal when the story was published, we will hand over what we have on Friday,” Ogalo said.
