Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno team has been swept away from the recently concluded Orange Democratic Movement grass root elections in Migori county.

A team led by Otieno’s rival Paul Abuor sailed through comfortably in campaigns which were tied on loyalty to Cord leader Raila Odinga.

Otieno publically said he was set to leave the Orange party and form a his political party as a vehicle for his presidential ambitions.

His party is dubbed Kalusi, meaning a whirl wind in Dholuo.

His remarks saw the branch expelling from the party earlier.

The new chairman is Bernard Bondo, his deputy is Walter Nong’ong’o.

Obuya Kisuge went through as the Organising Secretary.

Mary Ogodo and Florence Ochieng’ are chairperson and secretary of the Women League.

Maxwell Ocheing’ is the Youth League chairperson.

Kisuge said the voting was a precursor of what will happen in 2017 saying they have “strengthened Rongo constituency by having strong party members.”

Dalmas’ team had Jared Onyango Ngare as chairman assisted by Naftali Omollo vice and Ben Onyach as the Youth League chairman.

The team termed the election as a “Sham” and insisted they are the officials.

In several address to the press, they said the election was not free and fair.

Reacting to their claims, ODM chairman John Mbadi said they should write to Orange House election board and raise their complains.
