(PHOTOS) Kibra MP Okoth shows effect of cancer, Kenyans rally behind him

Kibra MP Ken Okoth has posted his photo on twitter showing effects of chemotherapy as he battles colorectal cancer.

Okoth earlier said the cancer which affects colon or rectum has given him fear of unknown and has changed his life.

A user @WambuiBMW, inquired about the legislator over his long silence: “How are you fairing? You crossed my mind today. Am praying for your quick recovery.”

Hon Okoth replied with the heart breaking photo, followed by a caption which created and outpouring of support from kenyans on twitter.

“Napambana na hali yangu kabisa. Chemo drugs brutal on the skin and immunity system. #CancerAwareness #WeShallOvercome” he said.

The 41-year-old second time legislator said he will remain strong and said he was responding well to treatment.

#KOT poured in encouraging messages and prayed he gets well.

His colleague, Yusuf Hassan on @MPyusufhassan said: Dearest Ken, Our thoughts are with you as you battle with this disease.The whole of Kenya is behind you and sends you strength. You’re a fighter and I’ve no doubt that you will defeat it and emerge the victor. Be strong and courageous.”

Former IEBC Commissioner Roselyn Akombe on @DrRoselynAkombe posted: “May you continue with this strength and courage to face each day ahead of you. Bon courage, Mheshimiwa.”

IMLU, an organisation which worked closely with the legislator to pass anti-torture bill on @IMLU_org posted: “You are a fighter Mheshimiwa. We pray for strength and courage.”

ODM party Communication Director Philip Etale on @EtalePhilip posted: “Mhesh, you are in my thoughts. I am praying for your recovery. Remember the Lord God is on the THRONE and He will heal you. Be strong big bro.”
