Nyatike MP Edick Anyanga has said enemies of ODM have been using losers of party primaries and grass root elections of tainting of the image of the party and Cord leader Raila Odinga.

According to Anyanga, those who lost during the recent ODM grass root elections are misdirecting their anger and bitterness towards the party they previously wanted to serve under.

Speaking in his Nyatike constituency, Anyanga said that the losers were forming parallel teams of losers aimed antagonising the duly elected ODM grass root leaders.

“You people went to elections and elected your representatives and I remember myself, out the love for the party, taking it upon myself to see to it that those you elected had their certificates. It is however shocking that we have some people spreading propaganda against the current office,” Anyanga said.

He added: “Under the able leadership of Raila Odinga, ODM has drawn a massive following and with this in mind, there must be some ‘cracks.’ It is thus evident that this war is not for the faint hearted,” Anyanga quipped.

In bid to distance ODM from the chaos, the party’s national chairman John Mbadi, during the burial of the sons to former Uriri legislator Odhiambo Omamba in December last year, shifted the blame to the electorate.

According to Mbadi: “it’s unfortunate that some people defy rules governing the election and conduct their own parallel polls in places not designated by the party and still want to claim victory.”

According to Nyatike sub county ODM chairman William Odhil, those who lost in grass root elections have been working with leaders allied to PDP to “destabilize” the party.

Odhil said that these mischievous dealings have led to the party’s secrets being shared to outsiders; a vice he asserts has cost ODM dearly as outsiders use the “secrets” to win elections.

Nyatike and Suna West constituencies have had losers forming parallel teams and intimidating those duly elected while having “party” meetings to solicit money from defectors.
