Cord leaders have opposed the new strategic plan to be created by Independence Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as they have not been involved.

ODM chairman and Suba MP John Mbadi has said the last elections and the previous one in 2017 was a big sham and the opposition should be involved in the building up of the strategic plan.

“We have had two previous elections under IEBC contested bitterly and we still have issues with the current commissioners, so by goiing ahead with the plan without us is a big let down,” he said.

Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga insisted that the move to sideline them from formation of the plan as a means to rig the forthcoming elections.

The three leaders were speaking on Friday during a tour of Migori county to drum up support for voters and ID registration where they visited Rongo and Awendo constituencies.

Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo, TJ Kajwang’ (Ruaraka), Wanga (Homa Bay), Mbadi (Suba) also took time to call on president Uhuru Kenyatta to rein his lieutenant Moses Kuria (Gatundu South) over remarks that on NYS saga.

“We believe the words used by Kuria came directly from the State House and it shows that there is a section of the country that will use uncouth means to attack others in the forthcoming electionsg,” Kopiyo said.
