Migori town man in court over Saba Saba incitement

A Migori town man who went for Saba Saba day demonstration has been charged over incitement to violence.

Sylvester Onyango, 31, appeared before Principal Magistrate Edwin Nyaga facesto face the charges contrary to section 96 (c) of the penal code.

The court heard that the suspect was arrested along Migori-Isebania with a plywood placard which read “Migori County Saba Saba, Uhuru Must Go, Baba in (Cord), corruption, constitution, IEBC must go, insecurity, gender parity, the people voice.”

The court heard the placard was insinuating an act which is unlawful to the authority.

But the accused denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000 or a bond of Sh50,000 and a surety of the same amount pending hearing of the case on 21st this month.
