Migori Knut endorses Oyu, Nyamwanda for SecGen and Asst. National Treasurer ahead June national elections to ouster Sossion

Migori county council of Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) have officially joined a lineup to ouster the national Secretary General Wilson Sossion by join a rival outfit.

The county council which brings together Migori, Rongo, Kuria East and Kuria West branches said they have unanimously backed Collins Henry Oyu as the Secretary General as he hails from Nyanza region.

They also backed ennedy Nyamwanda as the sssistant national treasurer in polls slotted for June.

“We are yet to know the exact venue and time for the national polls, but so far we have Oyu and Nyamwanda for the positions which we will use to bargain with other regions,” Caleb Opondi, the Migori Knut secretary general said.

Opondi said the decison was binding and gave out a list and line up which will see other seats being shared:

  • National chairman- Patrick Karinga (Central)
  • 1st Vice National Chairman- Stanley Mutai (Rift Valley)
  • 2nd Vice National Chairman- John Wesonga (Western)
  • DSG- Otieno Agola (Nairobi)
  • National Treasurer- James Ndiko (Eastern Region)
  • DNT- Ali Abdi Hussein (North Eastern Region)
  • 1st National W/Rep- Mercy Kiambati (Central)
  • 2nd National W/Rep- Mercy Ndung’u (Rift Valley)
  • 1st National Trustee- Bonface Tenui (Rift Valley)
  • 2nd National Trustee- John Gitari Muntin(Eastern)
  • 3rd National Trustee- Fredrick Ngimani (Coast)
  • PWD- NEC- Edward Olambo Kwach
  • Nyanza Regional Council Nominee Joseph Mangeteni, Caleb Opondi and Eunice Bosco
