A veteran journalist in Nyanza region has succumbed to Covid 19.

Maurice Juma Aluoch, the Director of Communication in the office of the Homa Bay Governor, died while receiving medical care at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Homa Bay County Referral Hospital.

He was admitted on Sunday after testing positive for the virus, Prof. Richard Muga, the County Executive Committee member in charge of Health said.

The late Aluoch previously worked for Royal Media Services as a correspondent for Radio Ramogi in Homa Bay and Nation Media Group as Daily Nation correspondent.

Governor Cyprian Awiti later appointed him to his current position.
