In need to boost Homa Bay health pledges, Wanga meets medics to share agenda

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has met health stakeholders from the County in an effort to to strengthen servise delivery to the locals and fulfill her campaign pledge to make the sector better..

Wanga said during her campaigns, improving the sector was her biggest agenda to electorates.

“Like I said before, health remains an integral power of my administrations agenda. We are incubating a plan  of developing a major Mother and child hospital at the Homa Bay referral hospital,” he said.

“This is part of our plans to upgrade the hospital’s bed capacity, We are seeking out potential partners from among your team to support us to achieve this dream in whatever way they can,” she told the gathering.

The governor highlighted some of the critical areas where her government needs support going forward to enable them deliver essential servises in the healthcare facilities.

She said man power being key in supporting the delivery of services,they have identified gaps in the human resource that may require support from partners for them  to be able to meet expectations in delivering the necessary services.

“In this sector, me and my team would appreciate capacity building trainings, that your organizations can support to help our people gain more skills,”she said.

“We also lack personnel in some key areas, your intervention, in supporting the employment of critical health care workers,and by assisting in this would really be a big boost to us,” she said.

She was speaking when she met health workers in the county.
