A minor from Homa Bay is fighting for her life after being defiled and her eyes gouged out.

The nine year old girl is nursing serious injuries in Homa Bay County Referral Hospital.

She was defiled and stabbed by her defiler at Shauri-Yako estate within Homa-Bay town at around midday before the suspect disappeared.

The Grade Four girl of a private school in Homa Bay Sub-county sustained serious injuries when her defiler stabbed her eyes and rectum using a sharp object.

It is reported that an unknown man found the girl on her way to her grandmother’s house and grabbed the girl into a nearby sorghum plantation where he defiled and stabbed her.

The suspect disappeared when she had voices of women who were rushing to rescue the girl during commotion and disappeared.

According to the Hospital Matron Caroline Adongo, the girl sustained serious injuries in her cornea (the inner part of the eye), rectum and vagina.

She says the assault had also caused fistula in the girl since she could no longer control stool and urine.

The Chief of Arujo Location Bob Lang’o says he had informed police with whom they were investigating the matter to help apprehend the suspect who committed the ordeal and still at large.
