CONGRATS: Migori Clinical Officer Austin Oduor elected in national union office

Migori based clinical officer Austin Oduor has been elected the Kenya National Union of Clinical Officers national deputy general secretary.

Oduor who has worked in several clinics and hospitals in the county, apart from representing clincial officers across the globe thanked colleagues for the honour they bestowed on him.

“We thank colleagues who made sure we have a new officer and we want to assure them we will continue to push for employment of more members by government and push through a collective agreement which is at a critical stage,” Oduor said.

Speaking to Migori News, Oduor said Kenya has only employed around 23,000 clinical officers which is still way below the number needed for effective health care deliver to Kenyans.

“We still have clinical officers who are employed on contract, apart from pushing them to be employed permanently we will ensure more are employed,” he said.
