A woman in her thirty was allegedly killed by fellow with whom they had quarreled over a hen at the weekend.
The incident occurred at Ndege Oriedo village in North Kamagambo location of Rongo sub county.

Irene Obonyo was married in the same homestead by brothers reportedly differed and exchanged bitter words before one of them sprinkled the other with petrol while preparing meal for the family setting her a blaze and sustained serious burns all over her body. She died while being rushed to hospital.

Villagers upon getting information stormed the homestead and set the killer’s house on fire, she had already escaped as villagers were baying for her blood.

Villagers told the media that the killer reportedly purchased a petrol from a vendor at the near by centre but her motive remained unclear as nobody thought of what she intended to do with petrol which she reportedly had on a cup.

The killer’s husband escaped villagers wrath narrowly as police arrived in time and dispersed the crowd that was heading to set his shop on fire at Oboke trading centre between the border of Kamagambo and Gem.

The husband has also gone into hiding as police were hunting for the culprit believed to be hiding within the region.

Confirming the incident,the Rongo OCPD Jonathan Kisaka said already investigation has been launched to establish what transpired provoking hunger of the killer to commit that crime.

Mr Kisaka appealed to members of the public who could be having information of the killer’s whereabouts to report to police imeediately to enable them take quick action.

Tension remained high in the village at the weekend and police were deployed to keep vigil and avert occurance of such crimes in the area.

The law enforcers had hectic time battling with groups spotted within the vicinity wondering of what had befallen their village or planning arevenge.

Mr Kisaka said police will camped in the village for a whole week to ensure planners of revenge attack were brought to book to ensure calm was restored in the region.
