Migori police are holding two Tanzanians found sneaking in the country explosives worth Sh9million in a Toyota Probox vehicle.

County police boss Francis Ngului said the two and the haul were netted along the border of Kenya and Tanzania after a tip off from members of the public.

Nguli said the suspects, apart from transporting the explosives to an unknown destination illegally did not have required traveling documents that allow them to be in the country legally.

The county police commander said the two suspects are in police custody waiting for further investigation and arraignment.

Nguli has lauded the members of the public for giving the tip off to the security officers who also managed to respond promptly.

He said the police will continue working closely with the members of the public so that they can stop illegal trade along the border of Kenya and Tanzania
