(VIDEO) How Bansi Wholesalers Donated Sh18m To Uplift Bansi Bugni Primary In Nyatike

The family of Bansi Kathrotiya, a popular businessman in Migori county have donated over Sh18million to help boost a rural school in Nyatike sub-county.

The family which manages Bansi Wholesalers which is a chain of supermarkets, water bottling and wholesale business in Migori and Nyanza region have uplifted Bansi Bugni Primary School in Macalder Kanyarwanda ward.

The school was first started in 1987 as a nursery school for God Kwach and Owich Primary Schools, before the uplift started in 2009.

Since then the family which also supports the National Super League side Migori Youth has done the following:

  • Construction of first four classrooms
  • Roofing of four other classrooms
  • Purchasing of school land and getting title deeds
  • Fencing and building a gate at the school
  • Construction and furnishing of administration block
  • Sponsoring 12 students to high school, 3 in colleges
  • Building 11 modern classrooms
  • Marking 200 plus schools desks
  • Donating of food, sanitary pads and food items
  • Regular visits to the school
  • Construction cleaner and hygiene washrooms

During the leaders who attended included Felix Okwanyo, area MCA, Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko, Woman Representative Fatuma Mohammed, senator Eddy Oketch and Nyatike MP Tom Odege among others.
