Six youths at Nyamage village in West Kanyamkago area are blaming senior county politician of using administration police officers to torture them.

The six claimed they were arrested Thursday last week at Kambogo chief’s camp where they were locked away by Aps and area Chief John Otieno.

The youths are Pius Omondi, John Omondi, Peter Ochieng’, Joshua Nyanye, Dalmas Ojwang, Peter Juma and John Omollo.
They said they were forced to part with Sh5,000 for them to be released.

On Wednesday the youths took P3 forms at Migori Level Four hospital and sought redress from county police officers.

John Omondi said AP officers took him away from his home at 10pm on Thursday when he was having supper and constantly ask him why he was working against the senior politician.

“We were huddled together and told if we wanted to go against the politician then we were to relocate or face harassment,” Omondi said.

Pius Omondi said they were arrested without trial, beaten severally and tortured without trial for a long time which he said was against their constitutional right.

Speaking to Migori News the youths said they were arrested for allegedly not working closely with the politician.
But area chief said he didn’t take part in the arrested and denied the youths being held at his camp.

George Chelagat, the Uriri Sub-County Commissioner said he will investigate the claims through area AP commandant.
