Residents of Uriri have benefited from the relief food from their MP Mark Nyamita to caution them at this time of heavy downpour and world pandemic (Covid19) which has resulted to the flop on income in most households.

The beneficiaries included four orphanages, people living with disabilities, elders and other vulnerable members of the constituency.

Wi-Nyarago orphanage manager Maurice Ogolla said over 100 orphans in his facility solely depends on foreign aid which they cannot access due to the spread of Covid-19.

He said they were forced to send a good number of orphans to their relatives around as they remain with manageable 47.

Uriri constituency coordinator William Mbeche said the third face distribution of food assorted items was to see that flood victims and unable residents are assisted.

Mbeche who was executing the distribution duty on behalf of the area MP said they must also work together so that residents are saved from Covid-19.

Uriri ACC-1 Peter Kimani urged the residents to remain vigilant and practice brotherhood especially to the less fortunate groups in the society.
