A freak road accident has claimed two lives at Awendo town today along Migori-Kisii highway.

Migori county police commander David Kirui said a salon lost control when it veered off the road and hit a pedestrian walking beside the road.

Kirui said that one of the occupant in the vehicle also died a few minutes upon reaching a local hospital while several sustained serious injuries and they are hospitalised at Migori level four hospital.

the two bodies are preserved at Rapcom Mortuary in Awendo town.

Kirui said they have started investigations to ascertain the cause of the accident.

He urged road users to take personal precautions while using the road to avoid being similar accidents.
