The Teachers Service Commission will pay heads and their deputies responsibility allowances soon.

TSC secretary and Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia urged primary schools’ heads and deputies to remain patients as the commission is working with Salary Remunerations Commission for a way forward.

She noted that the heads and their deputies were playing their professional noble role effectively that should not be ignored by the government.

“Supervision duty allowance ought to have been introduced long ago, we just need patience to fast tract that,” she said.

She defended the government over accusation that it has been quit over the issue that she promised will be implemented as soon as the SRC completed its work on that.

She was addressing the Lake Region Kenya Primary Schools Heads Association(KEPSHA) held at Isebania border town in Migori County.

Heads and deputies will be considered for reasonable responsibility allowance to make them be in school all time to improve academic performance.

The Migori County Governor Okoth Obado asked the TSC secretary to shelve off punitive directive of barring registration of new schools as demand for enrolment in schools was increasing day by days.
