secondary school teacher and a farmer were arrested by Kuria West sub-county police for trying to book a lodging with underage Tanzania school girls.

Area police boss Benson Mukumbi said they acted on a tip off as John Machera, a teacher at Masara Secondary School and his friend Paul Makuri, a farmer were spotted with the two girls who were still wearing uniforms.

The two had moved the girls from their country to a lodging at Nyamohanse center.

“We will take the minors to hospital to ascertain their age before charging them for being in the country illegally,” he said.

The two suspects will also be charged in the court.

Mukumbi said they had acted on a tip off and managed to arrest the suspects before they had booked rooms.
