A section of Legio Maria members have alleged a plot by nonbelievers to steal off the remains of their founder Melkio Ondetto.

Non-members have been urged to keep off church affairs causing wrangles among leaders for selfish gains.
The church has been embroiled in a prolonged leadership dispute between Pope Romanus Ong’ombe and former leader Raphael Adika.

Both sides have accused each other with members saying the wrangle was a scheme by non-believers who wanted opportunity of getting into the legion headquarters and remove the remains of the church founder from where it was laid to rest in early 90’s.

Among them is Father Tilen Oyamo Agiso who questioned interest of the catholic Nuns who have visited the Got Kweru shrine where Ondetto is buried.

“Ong’ombe should be wary of strangers who are visiting him requesting to assist him acquire modern vehicles and build him houses,” Agiso said.

The Church founder Melkio Ondetto who died in 1990’s was considered to be messiah by believers.
With his tomb still being heavily guarded by faithful.

The nuns had requested to be allowed to erect a tomb where the founder was laid to rest raising eye brows as to what interest they Nuns had and who was sponsoring them to accomplish that mission.

“What is happening will flare up more leadership wrangles,” Agiso said.
