Kamagambo Police Station officers are holding a 27 year old woman for attempted poisoning her three children and committing suicide in Nyasoti village south Kamagambo ward.

The suspect only identified as Pauline locked her three children in the house, cooked food and laced it with rat poison and tried to kill her children aged 11, nine and five years old.

Area chief Erick Mala said the eldest child who saw the poison yelled attracting their grandmother who took them to his office.

“Whe we went back to the house we found the woman attampting to commit suicide using a rope, this is not the first time she had tried to,” Mala said.

Mala said that the woman could not narrate exactly what would drive the woman to try taking away her life plus the innocent children.

The chief however said that according to the family members the woman had some times back tried to commit suicide.

She is expected to appear in court tomorrow to answer charges against her.
