Rongo urged to elect women in ODM primaries, August polls

Rongo sub county residents have been told to ensure they support all the women who have shown their interest in various political positions in the region.

This is according to Winnie Akoth Mwamba alias NYARONGO who is aspiring for the seat of Central Kamagambo ward representative Rongo constituency who said that many people have tend to see women as riders not taking into consideration the challenges women face including the historical background which she said unless such issues are considered then many women might not get the opportunity to lead hence women leadership would be undermined.

Speaking during her campaign launch in Rongo for the central Kamagambo ward representative position, Mrs.Mwamba called on the residents to support women saying that women are always focused in terms of development and empowerment in all the fields hence are able to lead.

She at the same time took the opportunity to drum up support for her bid to clinch the ODM ticket in the coming polls saying she is ready to ensure she creates conducive environment for job opportunities and development agendas for change of the youths talents and the people of central Kamagambo ward and the Rongo Sub-county at large.

Four women out of 14 aspirants have come out to contest for the Central Kamagambo ward representative seat and they include former Rongo Mayor Pellin Ogweno,Jane Okendo,Winnie Akoth and Juline Amollo Nyamai.
