Rongo MP Paul Abuor has said his constituents will not vote him because he attended Azimio rallies but his development track record.

The legislator was defending his recent visit to State House which went against the ODM party and leader Raila Odinga.

“What is making me not agree with some people is that it is being said that governors have been allowed to go to state house but MPs have not been allowed to. If there is resistance then it should done in full measure,” Abuor said.

Speaking at a church in his constituency, the legislator said they will not be stopped as what they seek is development for their people.

According to the MP, ‘there are those who see that development projects should be stalled till 2027 so that they might be looked at at a later date’.

Abuor held that they state house visit was meant to bring development projects to constituents.

The legislator who said he is still in ODM and will remain loyal to Azimio leader Raila Odinga, said his people need development and that is what will make them vote for him.

He denied being a rebel the mistake they are said to have done was that their going to state house was too early.

“Even if they talk, what we did was to go and seek for development for our people. We will continue to seek for development projects for our people,” he said.

Abuor had penned a letter on February 14, saying he is still a loyal member of the party.

The legislator who reacted to a letter by the party over the visit said the state house visit was a continuation of another meeting from Kisumu State House Lodge by president William Ruto.

“I wish to state that these allegations are not true as am a loyal and dedicated member of the ODM party who lives by the party code of conduct that I signed. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these development based meetings,” Abuor said.
