Police have launched a manhunt for a Rongo man who reportedly killed his wife at Ogeng’o village after she refused her attempts to marry a second wife.

Jacob Owili murdered in cold blood Lilian Awuor, his wife of 15 years after the woman attacked his second wife before running away with their vehicle logbook, his passport and other vital documents.

Awuor had gone to their home in Homa Bay county, she came back thinking they will reconcile their differences.

“He tied the woman’s hands and legs using a rope before continuously assaulting her for hours using crude weapons. She was unconscious when rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead,” a neighbour said.

Neighbours who were scared of rescuing the woman, claimed the woman weaped bitterly shouting for help but no one could come out fearing the man would direct hunger on whoever responded for distress call from the deceased.

The body is at Rosewood Mortuary as the man and his lover have gone into hiding.
