Shock has riled residents of Kabuoro sub-location in Rongo sub-county as police have lunched a manhunt for a suspect who brutally raped a 75 years old granny on Boxing Day.

Joyce Juma was attacked as she went to fetch for water at river Misadhi.

The deeply traumatised Juma told Migori News at her hospital bed that the assailant tried to kill her by strangling and threatening her with a knife.

“It was ugly as he strangled me, I kept wondering what an ugly way to die. It was horrible,” she narrated.

She said she tried to wail for help but her neighbours did not hear as she was dragged deap into a sugarcane plantation and her mouth covered with a piece of cloth.

Joanes Malela, Kabuor Sub-location assistant chief said the lady is receiving treatment at the hospital while a manhunt has been launched.
