The Migori County government has directed property owners within Migori town to paint their premises.

In a notice seen by Migori News, the County government through the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Physical planing, property owners have up to 30 days to comply with this directive.

This is inline with the on going beautification process of Migori town spearheaded by Governor Okoth Obado.

“As part of the beautification process going on in our towns and municipalities, and subject to the provisions of Public Health Act Cap 242 and Physical Planning Act Cap 286, all property owners in Migori County are required to renovate, paint/repaint their buildiings” the notice by the CECM Elijah Odhiambo reads.

The County Government has also directed the property owners to effect necessary renovations to their buildings.

“You are further required to liase with the County Lands department for property numbering/coding in order to ease identification and effective management,” the notice states.

Those with businesses in corridors, verandas and roads reserves have also been told to remove them.

The County government has cautioned those who will not comply with the directive that “County Government officers will enter into your properties without any further reference…”

The County government last week directed individuals with structures on roads reserves within town to remove them to pave way for expansion.

The County government has also launched beautification plans for Awendo, Rongo and Construction of Ombo market within Migori town in a World Bank project valued at 516 million.

The project will also see feeder roads within the towns upgraded.
