The DCI has summoned a close associate of Migori Governor Okoth Obado to record statement over claims that he wants to kill him.

This is after the investigators received an anonymous letter detailing a plot by Obado and his associates to eliminate Jared Kwaga.

According to The Star, the Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti said the agency is following up the issue and will conclude the investigations soon.

Kwaga also confirmed that he had recorded statements with the DCI over the death threats.

The businessman, according to the daily has previously expressed fears for his life and even claiming that unknown people have been trailing him.

“DCI officers have summoned me to record a statement with them,” he told the Star

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating alleged corrupt dealings linking Kwaga and the Migori County County boss.

The two have been in good terms for a long time and what seems to be the bone of contention between the two is yet to be known.
