A Migori CEC for Environment, Natural Resources and Disaster Management was forced to run for his dear life when rowdy youths attacked him and his team in Migori Stage last week.

Mr. Elijah Odhiambo with his team was visiting Migori Market when rowdy youths spotted the two County government vehicles and threw them with dirt.

The youths who were incontrollable poked holes in into the County government claiming it has done very little to improve the condition and the sanitation of the said market in spite of the huge taxation burden they suffer in the hands of the county askaris.

“We pay taxes daily and the market is in a poor state. The County government has done nothing and the youths have decided to take actions,” said Mr. Ochieng’ a boda boda rider in Migori.

The rowdy youths who expressed their disguise in a rather robust manner reportedly told the drivers of the two County vehicles to park them by the roadside before emptying the dirty ditches into them.

Interestingly, the police was on the spot but were busy controlling the traffic as they watched the youths empty the filthy ditches into those vehicles.

A little bird tells KNA that the CEC had to part with a clean Sh25,000 to give the irate youths for their “hard work” and to acquire back the already littered vehicles.

Our efforts to reach Mr. Elijah Odhiambo has hit hard rocks has he was out when we visited his office and our calls went answered.
